Berlin, 16th August 2016
For the fourth time, from 2nd – 3rd September, the national and international founders’ scene will meet at Startupnight in Berlin. Under the motto “Meet Investors. Meet Corporates. Scale your Business. Be International.”, more than 200 chosen startups will present themselves in five different locations, across 12 different categories, such as mobility energy, fintech, communication, fashion tech and hardware, and more than 4000 guests are expected. Alongside the main venue, Deutsche Telekom Haupstadtrepräsentanz, other venues include the IHK Ludwig-Erhard House, VW DRIVE, Microsoft Atrium and Deutsche Bank Atrium.
One becomes two – two conferences at Startupnight
The entire programme is designed to give founders the possibility to come into contact with a large network of established corporates, investors and business angels and therefore help them to take a step forward. This year a second conference will be held at Startupnight, in order to share as much knowledge as possible. The opening conference will be a half-day event at the IHK Berlin on the 2nd of September, taking place from 2pm until 8pm, and will focus on many aspects of “Old Meets New Economy” amongst others, and present examples of best case diverse models of collaboration. The second conference, which is usually held at the Ludwig-Erhard House at the IHK Berlin will take place on the 3rd of September from 8:30am until 5pm, consisting of three steams for startups, in which companies and startup-lovers can join hands-on workshops, lectures and insights, about everything that you need to know for the foundations of a business.
Content is King – Programme Highlights
The highlight of this year’s Startupnight is the famous Elefantenrunde, featuring successful players in the digital scene, such as, amongst others, Christian Reventlow, Chief Product and Innovation Officer of Deutsche Telekom, Markus Pertlwieser, Chief Digital Officer of Deutsche Bank, as well as Daniel Hayer, Chief Executive Officer of Native Instruments, discussing the digital transformation and giving the audience more than just technological insights into this topic. Further programme points include an Energy Hack by Eon Agile, an IoT Workshop by Avnet Silica, and in total, four pitch competitions. Startups can also now apply for the pitches. The winners of the competitions can win trips and mentoring in Tel Aviv (Israel Embassy), NYC (Berlin Partner) or Silicon Valley (HandsOn.TV and Detecon). The finalists will pitch on stage in front of an expert panel at Startupnight, who will then select the winners.

About Startupnight
Startupnight was launched in 2013 and is now one of the largest startup events in Europe. Startups get the opportunity to present themselves and their product to a wide audience, as well as to investors and companies. Due to the close cooperation with universities, recruitment opportunities are also offered. The event supports the startups to achieve the next phase of their development. There is a focus on growth through partnering and internationalisation, as well as financial and investment opportunities. A specific target group supporting programme (conference, workshops, investor speed-dating, live pitches etc) completes the startup exhibition.
