Founded in 2018, BrainPlug is a spin-off from the institute for information systems at the TU Braunschweig. We use machine learning and AI technologies to automate and digitalize large parts of the video surveillance infrastructure to provide decision support for human operators in critical situations. Our security platform integrates seamlessly with a wide range of existing hardware solutions and therefore allows to bring economically efficient security to a large range of use-cases, where no satisfactory solution exists today. Additionally, many traditional use cases are captured in a dangerous spiral: While the number of cameras is ever increasing the number of human operators stays constant, rising the cognitive load on the operators and therefore the security risk for these use cases. BrainPlug can support operators by highlighting critical situations, allowing to optimally leverage the entire infrastructure.
